Happy Halloween

It's that time again - HALLOWEEN! We had lots of fun this year coming up with and making costumes. Shelly (my sister-in-law) came over to Glendale so we got to go trick-or-treating with her and two of her kids. Of course McKaydee had a ball and Sadie had fun too although she stayed in the car with me most of the time :) Anyway here are a few pictures I took at the end of the night (I didn't find my camera until after we had gone trick-or-treating so I didn't get any pictures with the cousins but oh well I'm just glad I got a few of these little munchkins!!!)

Six Months and Counting

Sadie had her six month check up recently and here are her stats:
26 inches tall
15 pounds

She's growing so much and getting so big I can't believe it! She got her first tooth on Sunday morning - pretty exciting :)

WE LOVE YOU SADIE!!!

Potty Training

We've been trying to potty train McKaydee - it's been fairly successful, although we still have at least one accident a day :( Maybe the day will come with ZERO!!!) It has been kind of fun coming up with little rewards for her though - here are a few:

Swinging on the old tire swing in our back yard - she LOVES it! It reminds me of my Grandpa and Grandma Whiting - they used to have a swing like this in their yard that we loved too!

Eating a powder sucker (compliments of the bank :) - I can't find them anywhere else!

Baking brownies with mom - She was such a big helper and I thought she looked so cute in her little apron that my mom made for her :)

Guilty?! She liked to eat the powder before it was all mixed - you can see it all over her apron :)

Pouring the mix into the mixer:

McKaydee and I in our matching aprons:

And the best reward of all - riding the horses with daddy!

She got to go on one of the hour rides up at Duck Creek with Jason - she about fell asleep and Jason ended up wearing her hat along with his own - she absolutely loved every minute of it!!!

Family Weekend

Last weekend the girls and I got to go up to Wallsburg for my cousin's wedding, and to spend some time with the family. It was very fun. We got up there on Friday. We had the wedding on Saturday. Everything was beautiful - it was the perfect day! It was fun to get together with all of our family to visit and enjoy one another's company. Here are a few pictures of the weekend!

It was so cute. At the luncheon, all of the little cousins were playing together - Hallie loved it :)

There was some music playing in the background and McKaydee loves to dance to any and all music she hears - so she got Aunt Sara to dance with her! It was so cute!!

McKaydee has been a little scared of her uncles lately, but FINALLY she warmed up to them and had so much fun with them - they played with her and gave her lots of treats :)

She loved Grandpa Giles "Gramps" so much this weekend - on the way up on Friday she kept saying "Lets do see damps" (Let's go see Gramps)! She loved him to read this book to her and had to have her arm right up there on his shoulder.

Hallie and Sadie had so much fun together - at one point Hallie rolled right over on top of Sadie and gave her a big kiss!!!

On Sunday all all three of the babies - Tatum, Sadie, and Hallie - got to play on the floor together. They are growing so fast and are already becoming such good friends :)

This week, McKaydee has been gone with Grandpa and Grandma Whiting in Las Vegas. We've all missed her, but it's been fun just to spend some one on one time with Sadie. I love this little girl and thought she looked so pretty in her bouncer this morning :)
Fun times!

Kitchen Makeover!

So I've been trying to get my kitchen a little updated, but it seems like it never gets done. Well, I've finally made some good progress! Here's how it's gone:

A few months ago, my family was down visiting, and Ashley helped me take off the beautiful wall paper:

HUGE step in the right direction ;)!!! Next it was time to paint (this was just the past couple of days - a few months after the wall paper came down):

The above was the beginning of the first color choice, but we decided to go a little different route after we got the color on the wall:

It's a little hard to see with the lighting, and all of the stuff on the counters, but I really like it. And here's the finished product (for now ;):

The next step is to get rid of the yellow countertops, and paint the cabinets! Hopefully that will happen sooner than a couple of months ;) but I'll keep you posted!

UPDATES!!!

Okay as embarassed as I am it really has been almost two whole years since I've posted! But here goes a quick update and overview of those two years. First,we did finally close on our house on February 2, 2010! (We signed the purchase contract in August of 2009, so it was a very long, drawn out process.) Then on March 10 we had our second beautiful baby girl, as most of you probably already know. We named her Sadie J and she is just as sweet as can be! She is now four months old and growing more every minute! Other than that life in Glendale is about the same as always. Jason is still doing trail rides and I am just at home and doing occasional part time work in town.

Now that that's done, in the middle of June the girls and I got to go visit Jason on one of his rides. We camped one night, and the next day McKaydee got to ride with Jason while Sadie and I drove behind them in the car. McKaydee loved every minute of it as she jumps on any opportunity to go "ride the horsies with Daddy!" This ride was a cattle drive (The same one my last post was about, only two years later ;), and on this particular one there was a film crew doing a special on the ranch Jason and his crew were working for. So that night at camp McKaydee was running around with her chaps and cowboy hat on, and the cameras couldn't get enough of her! It was so cute. Anyway, one of the guys taking the pictures sent a few of them to us, so here they are...

This one is one of my two favorites. Jason absolutely loves his little cowgirl and is so proud that she loves horses as much as he does!

This is my other favorite. She just looks so natural, and he just captured everything right! (She had wandered over to that fence to watch the horse all by herself and was just standing there.)

I looked a little ragged and I had only been out there for a few hours! The dust gets everywhere!

And finally the beautiful baby. Her hair has finally started calming down a little but for the first three and a half-four months her hair would stand straight up on top as it is in this picture, and it is as red as can be ;) I absolutely love and think it just gives her that much more character!

We had a very fun time and were glad to be able to spend some time as a family!
