24th of July

For the 24th Jason and I, and his sisters and their husbands went for a 4-wheeler ride up around Circleville. There were seven of us that went. We started in Circleville and went up on Beaver Mountain and down to Marysvale, then back to Circleville. The entire trip was almost 80 miles, and it took us about five hours with all of our stops. It was so much fun. We saw some pretty amazing views, but pictures just don't do them justice! I was pretty worn out by the time we got back, but it was very worth it!

The glasses I'm wearing are very stylish, right?! I forgot mine, so I wore Jason's for a while. As we were driving along, he stopped and reached down for something. He found these other glasses for me to wear... he's so thoughtful ;) Anyway they were better than nothing!
It was nice to go with Jason. We sure appreciated Jason's mom and sister for watching McKaydee for us. When we got back to Circleville, we all had dinner and visited for a while. It was a very fun day. I did miss not seeing fireworks though. We were so busy with everything else that we forgot about them, until it got dark... oh well it was still great!

Weekend with Grandparents

Last weekend Grandma and Grandpa Giles and Grandma and Grandpa Whiting came down to stay in St. George and visit us. The morning they came down, McKaydee had her two month doctor's appointment. She had to have her first shots at that appointment. She was so brave, but it broke my heart to hear her cry when they gave her the shots! Here is a picture of her with the little bandaids on her legs - I let her wear them for a while for bragging rights! Haha!

All of the grandparents loved being down here with McKaydee, but I think Grandpa Whiting really loved seeing her the most! It was so cute, she was a little fussy one morning so grandma took her for a while. The next thing I knew, she was asleep in bed with grandpa - definitely picture worthy!

One of the days they were down here, we went up to Duck Creek to visit Jason at work. While we were up there we got to go for a little ride. It was very fun. Mom and grandma even went! I was really proud of them!

McKaydee had her first upclose encounter with a horse! It was so cute, but I don't know if she knew what to think... all I can say is that she'll figure them out soon enough if her dad has anything to do with it! She'll be our little cowgirl. ;)

What a fun weekend!

Blessing Day

We blessed McKaydee this last Sunday in Cedar City. It was so much fun to have the family together, and it was so special to have her blessed by her daddy! He was pretty nervous, but he gave her the most beautiful blessing. I was so proud of him, and grateful that the holds and honors his priesthood, and was able to give her the blessing. It was very neat!

I thought she looked so beautiful in her blessing dress. It's kind of fun, because the dress she wore was also my blessing dress when I was a baby! Kind of a fun tradition. I just love this little girl so much!

Grandma Meeks made these cute little booties for her. I thought they looked so cute, I just had to take a picture!

She looks just like a little angel to me all dressed in her white. She is just so peaceful.

The proud parents! She kept getting her hands all tangled in the ribbons on her dress! However, she didn't mind... she actually quite liked it I think, as her face shows in the picture with Jason!

She really is such a special spirit, and it was a wonderful day to bless a wonderful child!

First Trip to Grandma Whiting's!

The last two weeks, Jason was gone on a cattle drive, so McKaydee and I got to go up to Wallsburg to visit Grandma and Grandpa Whiting, and to meet Great Grandma and Grandpa Giles for the very first time! McKaydee also got to meet Aunt Ashley for the first time. Ashley drove up from Phoenix, and we rode up to Wallsburg. It was so much fun to visit the family. McKaydee got so spoiled... now Jason and I are having to get her back into her routine (without being held all of the time ;)

Great Grandpa Giles

A funny thing happened while we were visiting. McKaydee was kind of fussy one day, and constant noises generally calm her down. Grandpa Whiting was outside mowing the lawn, so Ashley took her out there to see if she would calm down with the sound of the lawn mower. They were sitting out on the porch swing, and McKaydee was almost asleep when Ashley saw something fall in front of her face. She looked all over, but couldn't see anything. Finally she saw a little spot of bird poop on McKaydee's head, but it wasn't very much. She felt around on her own head to see where the rest landed, but she couldn't feel or see anything. They came inside and Ashley asked grandma and me if we could see anything. After doing some examining, we discovered the rest of the little treat on the front of McKaydee's shoulder! It was pretty funny... my baby has had her first bird poop experience! She's taking after her grandma already! ;) Anyway, it's kind of hard to see in the picture, but this shows where it landed! (The little black spot ;)

McKaydee gets so excited sometimes, and gets her arms swinging, and her legs kicking so fast. When this happens, she has a tendency to catch her hands on things... including her headbands ;) This has happened a couple of times, but today I finally got a picture of it. She thinks she's pretty big and funny ;)

One of the nights we were up there, Great Grandma and Grandpa Giles watched McKaydee while we girls "went out" ;) Grandma Whiting, Sara, Kaylee, and I went to Salt Lake to a place called Desert Star Playhouse. They do comedy plays there, and the one we saw was called Indiana Bones. It was very funny, and good to get out again. I missed McKaydee though, and was glad to get back to her!

It was a fun couple of weeks, but I was glad to be back to Jason!
