Cows and Pumpkins

These are a bit late, but I've come to accept that that's the way things happen around here ;) Last week Jason was on the cattle drive for work. It's a ten day ride, and they push around eight hundred cows from Alton, UT (a small town just north of Glendale) down to their winter pasture on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. So one of the days I decided to take McKaydee out to visit her daddy and the cows. She is such an outdoors girl, so I knew she would love it! She hadn't been on a horse yet, and we decided it was about time she experienced it...

Jason was so proud!

Yes she did get all dirty - silly mom for putting her in white!

But she was getting pretty good at pushing cows - even when her dad wasn't looking ;)

The next day Jason's mom watched McKaydee so I could go ride for the day with Jason. It sure was fun, but I was very sore after. I really haven't ridden for more than about ten minutes since last October, so a seven or eight hour day in the saddle was more than enough for me for a while - I've got to break back in slowly... ;)

Jason right where he belongs - being a cowboy!

Then, the next day was Halloween. McKaydee was the cutest little pumpkin. She got to go trick-or-treating to Grandma Bauer's house, and she was so excited ;)

Anyway... Happy Halloween ;)!!!

Sitting Up:

With help...

And by herself (for a few seconds at least ;)...

Becoming a cowgirl :) :

And just being a happy and cute little girl!

We Finally Got a House!!!

Well we finally got into a house! We haven't bought it yet, but we are leasing with the option to purchase. We should qualify for the money in about a year, and we're hoping to buy it then!
It's not a great excuse, but because we've been moving and trying to get settled, I haven't posted for a while (about five weeks actually! as you may have noticed!)
This is the house. It needs a little bit of touching up (the yellow will have to go ;), but it's got a big yard front and back and a lot more space inside than our little one bedroom apartment! It's actually pretty nice, and we're loving it.

And as always, I have to post pictures of McKaydee. She grows so fast, I just can't believe it!
I walked into the living room the other day to find her like this:

She can almost roll from her back to her stomach! In fact, today she was basically on her stomach, except her arm was still tucked under her chest - she couldn't quite get it out, but pretty soon she'll be rolling all over the place I'm sure!

She's getting so good at holding her head up:

She is such a happy little girl. Everyone that sees her just loves how easily she smiles! (Especially her parents ;)

And finally as some of you may know, McKaydee and I got to go up to Wallsburg with Holly and Forrest to go to Swiss Days and visit the family. Sara got some great pictures of McKaydee! (Yes she did take quite a few, and I couldn't just pick a couple...)

24th of July

For the 24th Jason and I, and his sisters and their husbands went for a 4-wheeler ride up around Circleville. There were seven of us that went. We started in Circleville and went up on Beaver Mountain and down to Marysvale, then back to Circleville. The entire trip was almost 80 miles, and it took us about five hours with all of our stops. It was so much fun. We saw some pretty amazing views, but pictures just don't do them justice! I was pretty worn out by the time we got back, but it was very worth it!

The glasses I'm wearing are very stylish, right?! I forgot mine, so I wore Jason's for a while. As we were driving along, he stopped and reached down for something. He found these other glasses for me to wear... he's so thoughtful ;) Anyway they were better than nothing!
It was nice to go with Jason. We sure appreciated Jason's mom and sister for watching McKaydee for us. When we got back to Circleville, we all had dinner and visited for a while. It was a very fun day. I did miss not seeing fireworks though. We were so busy with everything else that we forgot about them, until it got dark... oh well it was still great!

Weekend with Grandparents

Last weekend Grandma and Grandpa Giles and Grandma and Grandpa Whiting came down to stay in St. George and visit us. The morning they came down, McKaydee had her two month doctor's appointment. She had to have her first shots at that appointment. She was so brave, but it broke my heart to hear her cry when they gave her the shots! Here is a picture of her with the little bandaids on her legs - I let her wear them for a while for bragging rights! Haha!

All of the grandparents loved being down here with McKaydee, but I think Grandpa Whiting really loved seeing her the most! It was so cute, she was a little fussy one morning so grandma took her for a while. The next thing I knew, she was asleep in bed with grandpa - definitely picture worthy!

One of the days they were down here, we went up to Duck Creek to visit Jason at work. While we were up there we got to go for a little ride. It was very fun. Mom and grandma even went! I was really proud of them!

McKaydee had her first upclose encounter with a horse! It was so cute, but I don't know if she knew what to think... all I can say is that she'll figure them out soon enough if her dad has anything to do with it! She'll be our little cowgirl. ;)

What a fun weekend!
