McKaydee was born on May 21, 2008 at 10:18 AM. She weighed 8 lbs 5 oz, and was 20 inches long.
We planned on having her naturally, but after a few hours of labor (about 9), the doctor realized that she was coming out in the "brow presentation" position. That meant she was face up and her forehead was coming out first, rather than the top of her head. As I would push, her forehead would hit my pelvic bone, rather than going under, causing her head to bend backwards and stopping her from coming out. The doctor would get her turned on her side, but every time I would push, she would go right back to her original position. The doctor said that in his whole career he had only delivered two other babies in this position, and he was able to turn them, but McKaydee was being stubborn. They gave me/us the option of continuing to try and have her naturally, or they could take her cesarean. Because of the risks we decided to have her cesarean. She came out healthy and beautiful, and we were sure glad to have her here!
The new grandma! She was just as excited (if not more :) than Jason and I to get this new baby here!
I was so excited to finally meet this beautiful little girl! She is everything and more than I could have ever hoped for!
Jason loves being a new dad. Before she was born he wasn't sure how it would be dealing with a newborn baby, because they are so small and fragile, but he absolutely loves it. He's had to go back to work this week, and he has the hardest time leaving her every morning!
We finally got to come home on Saturday May 24 after 4 days in the hospital. McKaydee looks a bit small in this big car seat...
She grows so much and changes every day! It's hard to believe how much she's changed since day 1!

I'm so glad you started your blog! This is going to be a great way to watch McKaydee grow. I had to laugh when you said she was being stubborn when you were trying to have her. I guess she takes after her mom! She is so cute and I'm glad we got to stop by and see you yesterday. I hope we get to see you and McKaydee again soon!
Carlia- I just saw on Sara's that you have a blog! Yay! I am so happy for you and happy that McKaydee got here healthy! My labor was much like that and I totally feel for you, but we recover and our minds sorta help hide the painful parts of the labor! Congrats! We'll be checking in often to see how your cute family is:)
Carlia I'm so happy you've got a blog, now I can keep up with whats going on down south! Congratulations on McKaydee, I can't believe she was so big, for how small you were! Keep blogging, it keeps me entertained at work!
And I think the picture with Jason looking down at her is the best. I love his big hat and cowboy boots. How are you feeling? Are you in pain?
Congratulations, little mama! She is so cute! Hang in there--the first few weeks can be a little crazy, but I promise you will get the hang of everything in no time! And I'm so happy you started a blog so we can check in on you!
